Oliver Günther is President of the University of Potsdam.
From 1993 until 2011 he was Professor and Director of Humboldt University’s Institute of Information Systems.From 2006 until 2011 he also served as Dean of Humboldt’s School of Business and Economics. Professor Günther has conducted research projects in the areas of enterprise information systems, IT strategy, security and privacy, digital asset management, collaborative software, database management, as well as geographic and environmental information systems. His list of publications includes 19 books and more than 150 papers on related topics. He is Associate Editor of Wirtschaftsinformatik, Information Systems Management, the International Journal on Geographic Information Science, the Journal of Environmental Informatics, the International Journal of Automated Identification Technology, and of Business + Innovation. He was one of the founders of the SSD symposium series on spatial databases, and he has served on more than 60 conference program committees.
Professor Günther has coordinated several large research projects funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Economics and Technology, and the German Research Foundation. From 1996 until 2006 he served as Director of the Berlin-Brandenburg Graduate School of Information Systems. Oliver Günther has held visiting faculty positions at the European School of Management and Technology in Berlin, the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications and the Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci in Paris, the University of California at Berkeley, and the University of Cape Town.
Oliver Günther has served as a consultant and board member to various government agencies and high-tech companies. He was Chairman of the Board of Poptel AG, Germany's first voice-over-IP company, and Chief Technology Officer of Teamtoolz, Inc., a San Francisco-based cloud service provider for the marketing and advertising industry. Professor Günther currently serves as Vice-President of the German Informatics Society, member of the board of Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft, member of the board of Humboldt-Universitätsgesellschaft and member of the admissions committee of the German National Academic Foundation.
As a high school student, Oliver Günther was a two-time winner of Germany's National Mathematics Competition. He holds a Diplom in Industrial Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley. Between his Ph.D. and his appointment at Humboldt, he held positions with the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley, the University of California at Santa Barbara, and with FAW Ulm.

Hans Gernert received both his Ph.D. and his Habilitation at Humboldt-Universitaet and has been a professor of information systems at the institute since 1988. In 1991/92 he served as Dean of the School of Business and Economics. In August of 2003, Hans Gernert died tragically in a traffic accident. His invaluable contributions towards restructuring the faculty after reunification and in bridging the gap between research and teaching will always be remembered.

Before his graduation he joined Deutsche Bank AG, PricewaterhouseCoopers Luxembourg S.à r.l., Nederlands-Duitse Kamer van Koophandel, ICTeam GmbH, and OnVista AG for internships and part-time Jobs. From 1998 to 2002 he was board member and chair of Börsen-Initiative Trier 1995 e.V. - a student club dedicated to practical stock exchange eduction. In 2002 he received the Knowledge Master degree from Siemens AG and Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. In October 2003 he joined the Institute of Information Systems and New Media of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. In February, April, and December 2006 he joined the BPM group lead by Wil van der Aalst at TU Eindhoven as a visiting researcher to work on the ProM framework. In June 2007 he completed his doctoral thesis on Detection and Prediction of Errors in EPC Business Process Models. From July 2007 until July 2008 he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the BPM Group at Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.

Sarah Spiekermann is Assistant Professor of Information Systems at Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. She has worked as an expert in the field of telecommunications and marketing since 1996 and regularly serves as an advisor to industry and government bodies in the area of RFID and the ŒInternet of Things¹. Her main expertise is in the areas of business modeling, consumer adoption dynamics and value-sensitive technical design. She holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from Humboldt University Berlin, a Master of Business from the European School of Management and a Master of Science by Research conducted in the field of organizational behavior at Aston University.

From 2003 to 2004 he was executive director of the BMBF-funded Berlin Research Center on Internet Economics “Internet and Value Chains - InterVal”. Since 2006 he is the executive director of the BMWi-funded Research Center of Collaboration and RFID “Ko-RFID” in Berlin. He is Professor of Informatics and Information Systems at the SRH OTA University of Applied Science in Berlin. Prof. Dr. Tamm is founder of Asperado.com and the Electronic Business Forum.

Seda Gürses completed her Bachelors Degrees on International Relations and Peace and Mathematics at the Johnston Center of the University of Redlands, USA, in May of 1996. Following her studies she came to Germany as an exchange student and started her studies in Computing at the Department of Computer Science, Humboldt University, Berlin. She completed her studies in Computing with a Masters Thesis on "Multilateral Security Requirements Analysis" in March of 2004. Before arriving at the Institute of Information Systems in January 2005 she worked as a research assistant within the Working Group Digital Media in Education Working Group (DiMeB) in the Department of Computer Science of the University of Bremen.
